‘08 Tacoma 5 lug overlander build

I originally bought this truck back in April to work out of, I currently am and will continue to do so but the more I drove it the more I got to thinking how perfect it would be to overland with due to its size and manueverability. Only down side is it’s 2wd. SO, to remedy that I have some 4.88s accompanied by an ARB locker waiting to go in. I started a landscape business so I can’t afford to have my truck down. I work 7 days a week, and as soon as winter hits and things slow down the build will continue. Things I’ve done so far is replaced the coolant bypass pipe, from the factory it’s plastic and the replacement is metal, not sure why Toyota didn’t think of that in the first place. Next was a new battery, opted for a yellow top Optima since I’ll be running 4 LED PIAA off road lights. Then it was time for a lift and tires. I went with a Procomp 2.75” suspension and a 3” body lift with 32x11.50 Maxxis Buckshot. The tires will be changed before the trip, these are too loud and ride like shit. After that I got the snorkel for fuel efficiency, I don’t plan on crossing any deep waters but it’s there if I need it. Next up are front and rear bumpers, I’m going with an ARB front and a fab fours rear with the swing away tire carrier. I’ll post more later on to the pics....

Looking good! I actually saw my taco I traded in for my tundra yesterday. The only thing they did was take the cap off of it.
Thanks. Lol. I see my old one riding around too sometimes.

I’m excited about this build, I still have a lot more to do along with some serious maintenance. We have no idea where we are going to end up out west so reliability is a must. If it CAN be replaced I’m replacing it.
