Throttle was stuck wide open after starting it. Messed with the carb and got it tunes right. It was still wanting to hold at full throttle after starting. I could manually pull the cable and make the idle run normal. Went into the cab an figured out there was so much dirt and debris around and under the gas peddle it was causing it to not rebound. It’s also rusted pretty good. It needs a new gas peddle. Seems to run ok now. Clutch and transmission seem ok. Time to get a gasket kit, flush all fluids and tune it up. I’ll probably put the Webber carb on since I have it. FD4551C6-A4AC-4C30-B4EB-252A4ABB7207.jpeg

Is the old Border Patrol Bronco for sale? I noticed it in one of the first images.

Yes it is. It was a forest service rig. It’s got a 302 and auto Tran. It needs some work. He said he had the engine re done but didn’t have everything hooked up. He said it was a 92. Body looked straight I couldn’t get to the engine or the drivers side. Wasps everywhere and blackberrys. I was in shorts and already cut my legs up trying to get the Toyota out of the bushes. 110EC851-3F71-4E6D-9B68-654CAFAAEE82.jpeg09A14D4E-E02F-43C4-A524-A710B45B2EF1.jpeg23356736-AFD2-403E-9539-640BB4382056.jpeg

They are great old rigs not like the pre 1978's but were pretty tough. I was informed we have a 4runner to work on. Picking up a 5 speed and the assembly for the pedal, master cylinder and I think the 3.4 ECU that was with it too, this weekend, on the down side the center console was sold :( Now to find a 3.4 and rebuild it or buy a mild build, I still think a 4.0 would be a kick in the skirt.

Cleaned up the engine bay so I could work on it a little easier without getting to greasy. Valve cover cleaned up good. Got the front main seal replaced. The one that was in there was hard and brittle no wonder it was leaking.
Painted the fan shroud. Flushed the radiator and drained the oil. Swapped out the plugs, distributor, rotor and wires. Replaced the belts. I should be able to put it all back together tomorrow and start working on getting the Weber carb on.
Found more electrical issues so that’s going to be more fun.

Got the front main seal (crank seal), oil pump gaskets replaced, tune up parts on, thermostat, new hoses, new fluids and put back together. Still need to get the gas pedal figured out it sticks bad. The exhaust needs to be addressed it’s in bad shape. Probably pull the front wheels off and see how the breaks look today. The exhaust manifold gasket needs replaced but I need new manifold bolts it is missing at least one that I can see. 0378EC5B-A1E4-4F18-A54C-85E0CAA4E5BA.jpegBartle was helping. 3CDC10C9-FA4D-4FBE-A233-DFCF773BD3C0.jpeg

Looks like it needs some interior work as well.

There was a good leak around the exhaust manifold gasket so I pulled it off to fix it. It’s got a small crack in it. :(
I can’t find a new aftermarket OEM one. Debating on putting an aftermarket header on it and taking some of the smog stuff off. D4DF5A36-79FE-40B2-9B03-2795DB461C53.jpeg
