They have also stopped ALL elective surgeries again too. A note to the people that think this is a joke or some conspiracy crap and refuse to wear masks in a store please if you end up getting the Sirus the Virus do not seek medical attention no matter how bad it gets,,,, there are others that are trying to do the right thing like keeping their distance, wearing a mask while getting groceries and avoiding crowds!!!!

Only if my wife could get off work we would definitely be going to this!

Unfortunately she works at the hospital and they are SLAMMED with non scary virus elective surgeries and traumas and can't take any vacation this summer until they hire more staff. She worked a 14 hour shift yesterday.

And yes, I refuse to shop or go anyplace that requires a face mask. But I do wash my hands like I always have and stay home from work and going out if I'm feeling sick.

It takes over a month once the virus gets into the community to spread enough to see hospitals get increased cases. Take Florida and Texas for example they opened up memorial day. Some wore masks and socially distanced lots did not. It takes up to two months before they start seeing an increase in deaths.
If the masses in your community are not wearing masks and not social distancing and gets the virus within the community and provision isn’t taken it could easliy turn into a NY- Texas problem. It doesn’t take much to overwhelme the system and if your wife works in the hospital I wouldn’t want to be part of the reason she gets to deal with hauling dead bodies out of rooms and into freezer trucks.
This is a short term sacrifice. It’s to bad people can’t see that their selfish actions can cost innocent lives.

Some people do not get it! They do not understand that if a person that feels just fine can be a carrier and pass it on to someone and it might cause that other person death or severe discomfort and hardship for family member/s. Like the General said in NOLA “You Can’t Fix Stupid”. Memorial Day, open beaches, protesters, open bars, other factors, and people not social distancing without masks has put Texas going backwards. I feel sorry for the people that say wearing a mask is an infringement on their “Rights”,, one would think that common sense would come into play but that is asking to much too I reckon!!!

Only a small percentage of people where I live have been wearing masks since the end of March. No spike here and we are 3 months into it. 1 death I believe.

My recommendation for anyone is to turn off your news and drop Facebook and live how you want to live. If you want to stay home go for it, wear a mask that might work (the rules have changed so much) go for it.

It's not just me in my community, I would say 90% or higher are doing the same.

What really irritates me about this whole BS is cancelling graduation for kids, limiting people at funerals but government, mayor's were cool with protests and riots. Doctors and nurses in New York were outside praising them wearing the hard to get PPE (so they say).

Hauling dead bodies into freezer trucks? I'm positive you watch CNN daily or MSNBC.

And remember that we are all in this together in these uncertain times. :ROFLMAO:

It’s a matter of time. This is far from being over and is just beginning in many areas. Like your area where 90% aren’t taking precautions and it’s business as usual. Florida, AZ, Texas and California did the same thing over a month ago. It takes time, it’s not like over night people start getting sick and dying. Every community will feel it at some point. How bad it gets depends on the people and how they are helping to protect those communities they live in.
I don’t watch the news, I don’t have Facebook or any other social media just this forum.
I talk with friends and family who are Dr and nurses who have been in NY, Illinois, and who are now in California, AZ and Texas. I have read articles put out by all forms of media and resources, including fox. I read more news articles from the right then the left so I can know how everyone is thinking.
To answer your... freezer trucks? When the hospital morgue freezers fill up they have to put the bodies somewhere. They will bring trailer freezer pulled by trucks to store the bodies.
Ignorance is bliss.

I’m curious...
Hypothetically... Would you be ok if it didn’t effect your family at all, to have your wife go help out in Huston hospitals as a nurse for a month? If she said I need to go do this.
Is that something you’d be ok with? Why or why not?

That is because the riots and protest were "in support" of people of color and against white people. You can do anything you want legal or not as long as it's for the purpose showing how horrible every white person is.

Who is against white people? Who is saying white people are horrible? Can you site your resource please. I’m interested in seeing where the statistics are.

Besides the news where have you actually seen this freezer trucks full of dead bodies? Just curious.

First off my wife would probably go help if they needed it. Good money as well but she's working 12-14 hours a day for non virus reasons and making good money right now. If she was needed I would be fine with it. She loves what she does for a living and would do what she has done for years working at a hospital with all sorts of bad shit around her, wear proper equipment. She was in a room with a patient that was in a car accident wearing a normal cheap mask ( they wear N95 if a patient is there for the virus) that tested positive. My wife was tested 5 days later and came back negative as well as the other 20 co-workers that were in contact. Health care workers actually know how to wear masks and take precautions unlike normal people like myself that touch their face 100 times more a day. She has been doing this for years like many other and know the risks and how to prevent most exposures.

And hopefully Texas gets a hold on this so we can visit Austin in November for the MotoGP race.

A guy I work with on projects flew in last week and had to jump through hoops just to fly and meet with me about some projects. At the same time his company (based in Portland) thought it would be a good idea to participate in the peaceful protests without jumping through hoops. Go figure.

I did the math in a week there is 168 hours. I spend 40 hours at work and then the other 128 hours alone. Even when i go to the store I am alone and usually more than 25 or 30 feet from anyone. What I have figured out is if I get covid i am ready to die from it because it is better than being alone. Good night all

That’s good. It’s an amazing career and takes a special type of person.
My cousins husband who is an MD and was there. He also went to Illinois for a few weeks and is now in Huston. He’s going back to California next week where his family lives.

You can't tell me that almost any news/article you have seen regarding what's going on doesn't blame "white privilege" or mention systematic racism? We are all to blame for all bad things that happen to minorities. I am sorry terrible things were done in the past, but I had nothing to do with it, don't blame me and don't you dare mention reparations paid for with my tax dollars for shit I had nothing to do with.

It's the popular way of thinking. There will never be equality until it goes all ways. Think of what would happen if you replaced the word black with the word white on some very common things, ie: Black History Month, Black Entertainment Television, etc., etc. How about the various laws stating that you must interview or hire a certain % of minorities, or bonus points on your job applications if you are a minority? Can you imagine the shit show if I got points for being a white male?

There is no way my wife could go help anywhere. They are working so much now that if anyone left they would be screwed.

I get what you’re saying. It’s not perfect by any means. I think the BET and minority hiring was good at the time. I do think it is something that can be improved on and this is helping to get there. We have a long ways to go and a lot to figure out.
To be fair you already do and have your points for being a white male. I know I do and I have had it easier as a white male.
