I looked on the board and could not find anything so here I go? If this is not correct please move it or let me know and I will start over!!!
Last year I could not get the wife interested in going up to Colorado for a drive in the Fall or early Winter. I bought my truck to haul-move things for a friend or two when they need help and to help out when and where I could. I have done both since the purchase of the truck. I want to go do some lite off-roading and put the truck thru it’s paces!! I want to use it a little. I have the wife interested in going and doing some lite 4wheeling so I was looking for some hints or where I can get more direct info in the Colorado Wyoming area where we can go have some fun this Fall. I don’t want to go trying to climb mountains or blaze paths thru forests just want to get it in 4 wheel drive mode and go see some different country other than the concrete or the friends deer lease where you can not go driving anywhos! Thanks in advance

Fun. :)
You may be able to find some books and maps that show rated trails for the areas you’re looking at.
Can’t wait to see some pictures.

Found some info on the ole innerweb called AllTrails there is also an app. Read a few reports, it comes with maps, info, and reviews, the whole things look interesting. On one trail 20 days ago there was still snow and it was closed and that was on an easy trail!!???:) That app lists trails all over the lower 48. In case anyone else needs something

what really sucks, is here by me. I really need to drive far to even get a trail. Hah most of the lifted trucks here are mall crawlers. Ya know you need a 6" lift to hop that curb on a busy mall day.....😅

The wife and I had to take a trip up to the farm lands around Nebraska and Iowa. When we came back home we came back down 49/71 South from Kansas City to Texarkana. Had to drive right there and right back due to some conflicts but!!!! When we found ourselves in the mountains of Arkansas we slowed down and enjoyed the scenery. Saw some of the most beautiful countryside we have ever scene. The mountains were beautiful. We wish we could have stayed a few days here and there so we could have gone into the countryside. We did make a couple little turn offs and I can’t even tell y’all where it was because we just saw some nice area and turned off or did a turn around to go see.
One time we did a turn around and found a dirt/rock road and from the Hwy we noticed a Tacoma by a stream so we did get to go off and go down a trail for a couple hundred yards were we found ourselves on a gravel place next to a stream/small river. No body’s was around so we stretched our legs and got back to it.
If anyone gets a chance to go towards the Fort Smith Arkansas area and North I would go it is some very nice views and heavily wooded mountain areas!!! Glad we came back that way because the wife committed to going to the Colorado Wyoming drive now where we will take our time in August or September late and where we end up that’ll be it!!!
We are getting older and both agree that the days of fast trips are behind us and if we can help it we will not be taking anymore of those trips,, we will be taking our time and enjoying what and where we are on our driving jaunts from now on!!! Looking forward to getting up to the NW in a few months!!!
